!Top tip! when planning your route save it, screenshot it or print it out, as internet access in Cumbria can be a bit hit and miss!

By train: The nearest train station is Windermere, where you can catch the 505 bus to Coniston . If you take a train to Oxenholme the Lake District you can either hop on another train to Windermere or walk down to Kendal Bus Station where you can also get the 505.

By car: The best way! The Lakes has some pretty breathtakingly beautiful drives – narrow roads though and watch out for the sheep – This site gives you more info than I ever could: www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visiting/planyourvisit/gettinghere

Places to stay:
There are two YHAs in Coniston: Holly How and Coniston Coppermines

And there’s loads of Inns and B&Bs to check out on tripadvisor ; and rooms and bunk barns on Airbnb

Camping (for the brave):

Coniston Hall Camping Site: It’s open March until October and is one of the only ones open at that time of year – so check that the facilities are still going before travelling!
