Jackie Haynes completed MA Textiles in 2014 at MMU after establishing and running her own Manchester city centre based design practice, House of Haynes Bespoke Costumes & Fancy Dress Hire, since 1995. She is currently engaged by University of Cumbria as a probationary PhD candidate, undertaking art practice-based research into Kurt Schwitters’ legacy of MERZ. The working title of the research is: Can Kurt Schwitters’ legacy of MERZ be considered as a nomadic entity and transformative site for affecting change to social, subjective and economic relations through art practice? Her multi-disciplinary practice circles around site, performativity, objects and conversation.

‘Doremifasolasido’ is a project by Jocelyn McGregor – it is an annual, peripatetic group residency that invites emerging artists from around the country to Cumbria to forge links between artists and arts organisations working in urban and rural settings. Each year artist participants are selected by partners from around the country. During the week-long residency participating artists create work, from sculpture to performance and film, in response to the site, culminating in an Open Weekend and exhibition of work made over the residency.
